Patient's question:
My child's walking is a bit unsteady, always limping. It makes me very worried. My friend said it's very similar to congenital hip dysplasia, because her former colleague's child was the same. What are the symptoms of congenital hip dysplasia in children?Doctor's answer:
Congenital hip dislocation, also known as developmental hip dislocation or developmental dysplasia of the hip, is a common congenital deformity. The femoral head and acetabulum within the joint capsule lose their normal relationship, preventing normal development before and after birth. The affected limb is bent, exhibits poor movement, and lacks sufficient propulsion; abduction of the hip joint is limited, with the affected femoral head displaced backward and upward, resulting in corresponding shortening of the lower limb. The hip joint and inner thigh wrinkles are asymmetrical. The skin wrinkles on the affected side are deeper than those on the healthy side, and there is an increase in wrinkles on the affected side.
