1. Drifting – Joining Jay Chou in Creating a Cool and Crazy Carnival
Drifting is a new extreme motor racing sport popular in Japan, the United States, and other places. It involves playing with difficulty and speed, free steering, and escaping pursuit as its distinctive features.
[Origin Story] Jay Chou's debut film, Initial D, showcased stunning mountain road cornering maneuvers, where the so-called "D" in the film refers to the first letter of "Drifting" in English. Drifting was born on a winding mountain road in Japan in the 1980s. At the time, amateur racers modified ordinary cars into racing cars and sped down quiet mountain roads at night. During high-speed turns, the cars easily lost control, risking bodily harm. However, some skilled drivers successfully avoided danger and experienced unprecedented speed thrills. Over time, through exploration, people gradually mastered some of the high-difficulty techniques of skilled drivers, forming the new form of motor racing known as "Drifting." In the 1990s, Drifting spread from Japan to Hawaii and then took off across the United States. In recent years, young people in South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan have actively joined this sport. In the summer of 2005, with the release of the film Initial D, Drifting officially landed in mainland China, sweeping up a whirlwind of excitement!
[Entertainment and Pleasure] Young people are always a vibrant generation, synonymous with trends and fashion. "Drifting" has become a favorite among young people for its unique charm. Speed and Thrills on Wheels: In reality, drifting is a driving technique that shifts the car's center of gravity off the track, causing the rear of the car to swing during a turn. Specifically, it involves losing most of the grip on the rear wheels while the front wheels generate lateral force, causing the vehicle to slide sideways and produce a "drift." Some players even lift their tires off the ground, with all four wheels spinning in the air, leaving people in awe. A Platform for Showcasing Skilled Driving: As a technical performance, drifting attracts the attention of many speed racers. The car makes continuous high-speed lateral turns, with tires slipping rapidly, producing a series of screeches, combined with thick smoke from the heat, offering an immersive audiovisual experience. Therefore, at the competition venue, spectators are always surrounded by shocks and screams! A Roller Coaster Experience: Sitting in a drifting car is like riding a free roller coaster, where you can feel a centrifugal force. There's no pressure from life or studies—only the excitement and thrill of youth. As the theme song Drifting describes it—engine sounds are like musical instruments, so the wind whistles past, thrilling
