Features: The IELTS reading exam is divided into two categories based on the purpose of going abroad. Candidates planning to study abroad for bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees should take the Academic test (referred to as A category), while those applying for immigration or participating in short-term exchange training programs should take the General Training test (referred to as G category). The articles collected in this book are primarily targeted at the A category exam. However, there are two recent trends in the G category reading exam: 1. Increased difficulty and length of passages; 2. A decrease in the proportion of short, ad-related, or notice-type articles, with a greater proportion of longer passages. The length and question types of the long passages in the third section of the G category exam are very similar to those of the A category exam. Therefore, many articles in this book are also suitable for candidates preparing for the G category exam.
This textbook includes over eighty articles. After a detailed analysis of IELTS test questions, we have organized these articles into seven sections based on reading exercises: Titles and Paragraphs, Fill-in-the-Blanks, Multiple Choice Questions, Summaries, (True, False, Not Given, and Rapid Findings, and Comprehensive Practice. When using this book, you do not need to follow this order, but the questions in the seventh section (Comprehensive Practice) are more diverse. Therefore, it is recommended that readers become familiar with all question types before attempting this section.
