At the same time, the content of the selected readings can help students understand the current global economic and trade situation and its main characteristics. The articles selected for this book are primarily from Western newspapers and magazines, and the economic, political, and social perspectives of the Western world are inevitably reflected in them. Therefore, when using it, one should study and understand the materials analytically and critically from the perspective of Marxism, so that they can be "adapted to Chinese needs." For convenience of use, this set of books is divided into two volumes; the first volume is the textbook, including the texts of each lesson, glossaries, annotations, lesson questions, and an index of specialized terms used in this book; the second volume is the workbook, which provides exercises for each lesson, extensive reading materials, and answers to lesson questions and exercises. The types of texts selected for this book include: news commentaries, commentaries, reports, features, teletype drafts, as well as annual economic and trade situation reports compiled by international organizations and market research reports by government departments.
