Publishing Date: 2000-07-01
Features: While revising the Compendium of National Chinese Herbal Medicine (hereinafter referred to as Compendium), the Color Atlas of National Chinese Herbal Medicine (hereinafter referred to as Color Atlas) was separately organized by experts to be recompiled and shot based on the species and content of the Compendium (2nd Edition). It primarily adopts color reversal films taken under the natural habitats of medicinal plants, with lifelike forms and colors, making it more helpful for readers to identify Chinese herbal medicines compared to the first edition of the Color Atlas. The species included in this revised edition of the Color Atlas remain within the scope of the revised Compendium (i.e., the 2nd Edition), but there have been significant changes in the species compared to the first edition of the Color Atlas. The revised Color Atlas collects a total of 1,096 color photographs of medicinal plants, animals, and minerals, including 1,020 photographs of medicinal plants, 53 of medicinal animals, and 23 of medicinal minerals. Some species, such as Dracaena fragrans, are published in public journals for the first time. To better match the new edition of the Color Atlas with the new edition of the Compendium (Volume 1 and Volume 2) and facilitate readers in cross-referencing text and images, significant improvements have been made in the layout. This book is available for reference by clinical practitioners, researchers, educators, producers of Chinese medicine, farmers, grassroots Chinese medicine workers, and enthusiasts of Chinese medicine.
