Features: A Comprehensive Examination of the Treatise on Cold Damage Literature is divided into seven chapters. Chapter 1 is A Study and Examination of Zhang Zhongjing's Life and Works, which thoroughly examines the relevant events of Zhang Zhongjing, the scattered and compiled timelines of his works, their transmission and evolution, as well as the relationship between Wang Shuxue's Pulse Canon, Volume 7 (Treatise on Cold Damage), and Zhongjing's works. The arguments in this chapter often reveal insights previously unexplored by predecessors, and all (examinations) are based on historical facts, completely abandoning arbitrary opinions. Chapter 2 is A Study and Examination of the Golden Chamber of Precious Parables, which confirms that the Golden Chamber of Precious Parables is a part of the Prescriptions of Zhang Zhongjing, which was personally compiled by Wang Shuxue. Therefore, the Golden Chamber of Precious Parables and the early manuscripts of the Treatise on Cold Damage show that Sun Simiao's Tang Dynasty manuscript of the Treatise on Cold Damage was compiled based on the Golden Chamber of Precious Parables with adjustments. Chapter 3 is A Collation and Examination of the Tang Dynasty Manuscript of the Treatise on Cold Damage. A Comprehensive Examination of the Treatise on Cold Damage Literature comprehensively and systematically employs exhaustive collation methods for the first time to collate the Tang Dynasty manuscript of the Treatise on Cold Damage. The collation and examination in this chapter fill the gaps in the study of the Tang Dynasty manuscript of the Treatise on Cold Damage. Chapter 4 is A Study and Examination of the Song Dynasty Manuscript of the Treatise on Cold Damage. In addition to thoroughly examining the transmission history of the Treatise on Cold Damage from Wang Shuxue to the present over 1,700 years, it also conducts a detailed, thorough, and meticulous examination and study of the subheadings of the Song Dynasty manuscript of the Treatise on Cold Damage. The author proposes their views and definitions on "methods" (fa) and "patterns" (zheng), and uses a wealth of substantial evidence to prove that should be treated as an independent chapter. Chapter 5 is A Collation and Examination of the Gao Jichong Manuscript of the Treatise on Cold Damage. This chapter provides an exhaustive examination of the origin, characteristics, historical background, the Gao Jichong family, and the birth and death dates of Gao Jichong. Chapter 6 is A Collation and Examination of the Dunhuang Manuscripts of the Treatise on Cold Damage. It studies the writing dates of three Treatise on Cold Damage manuscripts and their significant value in academic research on the Treatise on Cold Damage, as well as collating these three manuscripts. Chapter 7 is A Study and Examination of the Kangzhi and Kangping Manuscripts of the Treatise on Cold Damage, which examines two important Tang Dynasty manuscripts of the Treatise on Cold Damage transmitted to Japan—namely the Kangzhi and Kangping manuscripts. The above seven chapters basically conduct systematic studies and examinations of numerous Treatise on Cold Damage manuscripts before the Northern Song Dynasty's Yeping Year 2. Like all waters, they converge into one. The content of this book includes: A Study and Examination of Zhang Zhongjing's Life and Works; A Study and Examination of the Golden Chamber of Precious Parables; A Collation and Examination of the Tang Dynasty Manuscript of the Treatise on Cold Damage; A Study and Examination of the Song Dynasty Manuscript of the Treatise on Cold Damage, etc.
