Features: In 1997, the World Bridge Federation revised the rules for bridge competition. To align with international competitions, the Chinese Bridge Association organized national-level referees, experienced coaches, and outstanding players to thoroughly study and understand the spirit of the revisions. Based on this, they modified China's current competition rules. After extensive consultations, the revised rules were finalized in 1999. This updated set of rules adheres to the fundamental principles of the World Bridge Federation while also catering to China's specific circumstances. In terms of wording and content, it strives for clear headings, comprehensive explanations, fluent language, and precise expression. Therefore, all domestic competitions must comply with these revised rules starting from the date of their promulgation. Whether as organizers of bridge events or as players, everyone must familiarize themselves with, master, and apply the competition rules. This will greatly benefit the healthy development of bridge activities in China and the improvement of bridge skills. This rulebook clearly outlines the correct procedures and provides practical remedies when deviations occur. Any player found in violation must accept any judgment or adjustment made by the referee in accordance with the rules. The purpose of establishing this rulebook is not merely to penalize rule-breakers but primarily to correct the losses caused by violations.
