Features: The early 20th century was a period in people's perception when modern Chinese culture took shape. To forge modern Chinese culture, two bridges needed to be built: one to connect ancient Chinese civilization with modern civilization, and another to connect Western civilization with Chinese civilization. The scholar Fu Siye, shouldering historical, devoted his entire life to the construction of these two cultural bridges. Of course, many cultural pioneers participated in building these bridges, and there were disputes and even intense conflicts among them regarding theories and schools of thought. However, history tells us that it was precisely this intellectual debate that made the structure of modern Chinese culture more resilient to the test of time. The international academic conference "Fu Siye and Chinese Culture" was held from 24 to 27 in 2004 in Liaocheng, Shandong, the hometown of the late scholar. This conference was initiated by his disciples in Beijing as early as the 1991 National "Fu Siye Academic Symposium," which was held in Beijing.
