Features: This book is a textbook written for the Hindi language program at Peking University, intended for use by upper-level undergraduate students. It can also serve as a reference for Hindi language teachers and other Hindi professionals. Originally compiled as lecture notes in the 1980s, this edition has been revised. Due to space constraints, chapters on Hindi phonetics and punctuation were removed from the original notes, and many examples were also deleted. The last chapter, "Complex Sentences with Subordination," underwent significant changes in this revision, with substantial new content added. The book focuses primarily on practical application while also covering theoretical aspects. It places particular emphasis on Hindi verbs, with verb-related chapters accounting for more than one-third of the entire book. Detailed discussions are provided on the tense, aspect, mood, and participles of Hindi verbs. Regarding pronouns, the book not only covers traditional grammar pronouns but also expands the scope to include various types of pronouns such as pronouns, pronoun adjectives, pronoun numerals, and pronoun adverbs.
