Features: All of human emotions can be expressed through "looking." Love at first sight is thanks to "looking," conveying emotions through "gaze," and falling into conflict is the result of "seeing" the contradiction. There are also phrases like "looking sideways," "eyes splitting," "contempt," "scorn," "longing," and "staring." Human ways of looking are diverse, and the study of looking is vast. It can be said that the history of human civilization cannot do without looking. Looking—communication and connection; looking—adds color to the world. Many beautiful things in the world are born from the need to look, such as architecture, decoration, clothing, movies, books, and more. Seeing—more than just a coincidence; many stories in the world have unfolded because of seeing.
This book introduces... How many people have dreamed of traveling the world since childhood? Although it is almost impossible. However, some people have realized this dream in their own ways, and I am one of them. We navigate the "sea of books" and gaze at the other shore. We search through the "forest of books" time and again. Back then, how much we longed for a book that objectively and truthfully recorded this vast world, written by Chinese people, by those who share our skin color, our facial features, our national sentiments, and our cultural traditions. Perhaps due to limited exposure or the constraints of the era, I couldn't find it, and neither could my friends.
