Internal Medicine Handbook: 6th Edition

Author: Li Shi
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2002-03-01
Features: Following the active suggestions of the People's Medical Publishing House and the strong support of the relevant leaders of our university and hospital, it has been decided to revise and reissue this manual. It is with great regret that the original editor-in-chief, Professor Ying Yuanye, a renowned medical educator and internist in our country, passed away in 1991. To ensure the success of this revision, the editorial committee for the "Manual of Internal Medicine" was established, organizing experts and physicians from the two affiliated hospitals of our university, the Changzheng and Changhai hospitals, to revise the manual. In the overall arrangement, this edition still consists of six chapters: Outline of Diagnosis and General Principles of Treatment, Diagnostic Clues for Common Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases in Each System, Emergency Management, Laboratory Tests, and Diagnostic Techniques, to maintain consistency in the layout across different editions. The content has been updated by removing outdated material and adding new content, striving for practicality and incorporating new diseases and diagnostic technologies. The number of sections has increased from 210 in the fifth edition to 324. The "Outline of Diagnosis" section, personally written by Professor Ying Yuanye, is profound yet accessible, serving not only as a guide to disease diagnosis but also embodying the way of being a physician. It continues to benefit readers to this day, so the original text has been retained.
