Features: Writing and publishing this set of "Walking in America" was a highly enjoyable and gratifying process for me. "Days of Feeling America" and "Days of Experiencing America" were both written during my study visit to the United States and serialized in Chinese magazines. "Days of Understanding America" was continued for a local magazine's column two months after my return. After the serialization was completed, China Travel Press proposed publishing "Days of Experiencing America" first. After six months of market testing, they decided to combine the other unpublished manuscripts into a complete set. As a result, the full set of "Walking in America" now consists of four books, with "Days of Understanding America" divided into two volumes, and "Days of Experiencing America" essentially becoming a second edition. This book is composed of dozens of independent essays, recording the author's life and feelings upon first arriving in the United States, as well as their initial, direct sensory perceptions of America. At the end of the book, the author poses the question: "With the vastness of the world, can there be a unified standard for culture, or a unified standard for civilization? With the smallness of the world, can culture and civilization both bring surprises?" Answering this question is a central theme in Liu Ning's series of writings about her time in America, and the answer is embedded in her Liu Ning-style concrete experiences, observations, and insights. Liu Ning's "Walking in America" series contains so much cultural reflection and intellectual content, making it worth reading.
