Features: Linchong Prefecture is located in southwestern Yunnan, serving as an important gateway to Myanmar and Southeast Asia, as well as an ancient southern silk and tea trade route. Surrounded by Nujiang and Lancang rivers, it enjoys a warm climate with abundant rainfall and unique subtropical landscapes. Linchong Prefecture has a relatively young administrative structure but holds ancient shopping charm. It is the native habitat of large-leaf tea, with the highest tea output in Yunnan. The birthplace of Dian black tea, renowned both domestically and internationally, it is aptly called the "Tea Land." The annual sugarcane output exceeds 3 million tons, and sugar production reaches 226,000 tons, ranking first in Yunnan, making it the "Sugarcane and Sugar Land." With abundant hydropower resources along the Lancang River, the Wenvan hydropower station, with a capacity of 1 million kilowatts, has been completed, and the larger Daxiao hydropower station is also under construction. The prefecture has over 300 small and medium-sized hydropower stations, earning it the title of the "Hydropower Land." Numerous Neolithic era sites and ancient rock painting clusters are scattered across the area, making it the "Rock Painting Land." Rich geothermal resources and widely distributed hot springs give it the name of the "Hot Spring Land." Its unique karst terrain and dense cave systems form many mysterious underground landscapes, earning it the title of the "Cave Land." Spanning the Tropic of Cancer, the three major nature reserves—Yongde Daxueshan, Linchong Daxueshan, and Changyuan Nanronghe—feature unique climates and are home to endangered plants and animals, earning them the reputation of the "Land of Rare Birds" and the "Land of Exotic Flowers and Trees."
