This book is the final outcome of the National "Nineth Five-Year Plan" Social Science Fund project "Research on Community Development in the Economic Transformation Period of Shanxi Energy Base," undertaken and completed by Researcher Li Meifeng of Taiyuan Social Science Academy. It is the only national social science research project ever undertaken and completed in Taiyuan City. This book was completed by Li Meifeng and others at the Shanxi Taiyuan Social Science Academy based on years of tracking surveys. It covers the classification and basic characteristics of energy communities, the historical changes and transformation of Shanxi energy communities, and selects five case studies: Datong Qingcuiyao Coal Mine Community, Pingshuo Open-pit Coal Mine Community, Taiyuan Xishan Coal Mine Bureau Community, Shanxi Coking Group Community, and Changzhi County Songshan Township Songshan Village. The book analyzes this issue at different levels.
