Features: The Fast Track to Chinese is a practical beginner-level textbook designed for foreigners living in China who do not have access to classroom learning. With China's reform and opening-up, an increasing number of foreign friends come to China for work or business. To adapt to life and work in China, they urgently need to master some basic Chinese knowledge. However, as working professionals or their families, they lack the time and energy to attend full-time, systematic Chinese training courses at universities. The Fast Track to Chinese was written to meet the needs of this group of learners, helping them grasp basic Chinese knowledge as quickly and effectively as possible.
This is a short-term training textbook aimed at learners with no prior knowledge of Chinese. Those who attend two to three classes per week after work will start with the pronunciation of Mandarin. The program delivers immediate results, enabling learners to quickly master everyday spoken Chinese, such as greetings, self-introductions, recognizing common objects, taking taxis, making appointments, shopping, and dining out. At the same time, it introduces some of the most frequently used special grammatical structures in daily spoken Chinese.
Additionally, while teaching language, the textbook conceptually introduces Chinese culture, giving learners a glimpse into its richness. The textbook features an innovative and unique design, with a focus on listening and speaking skills. The entire course is planned to be completed in about three months. The Fast Track to Chinese is also suitable for short-term Chinese intensive training courses for overseas friends before they come to China.
