Features: What is a professional manager? I reviewed many books on enterprise management in China and abroad, but I couldn’t find a complete definition. Even in dictionaries, it’s difficult to find this term. Since there are different understandings of professional managers, I’ll simply define them as: professional managers are leaders, managers, and operators in enterprises that have implemented modern corporate systems, who regard long-term managerial positions as their career goals and means of livelihood. Professional managers are the vast group of business operators who dominate the fate of modern enterprises, the scarce elite talents for enterprises and even social development, and the heroes fighting on the economic front in market economies. Out of reverence for professional managers, despite my far-from-sufficient knowledge and capabilities in economics and enterprise management, I dared to compile China’s first systematic training textbook dedicated to reflecting the status, roles, functions, qualities, and management skills of professional managers—the International Professional Manager Training Course. This book is divided into three parts. The first part mainly covers the basic requirements of professional managers, such as their status, functions, qualities, and skills. The second part mainly introduces related content about manager culture. The third part focuses on the general foundational knowledge that professional managers must possess, rather than specialized management knowledge, suitable for professional managers in different positions within enterprises. I hope this book can contribute a small part to the professional manager training cause in China.
