Features: This book is a research outcome of the project "Social Development of China and Protection of Citizen Rights." Over the past two and a half years, we, young scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China University of Political Science and Law, and other institutions, have engaged in discussions on the issue of rights and conducted social surveys in several cities and rural areas across the country. Based on this, we have described and explained the concepts of rights, mechanisms for protecting rights, fundamental rights, and the rights of special subjects during China's social transformation, proposing some insights and suggestions. With the development of society, rights have increasingly become the core issue of China's legal theory and practice. We firmly believe that the gradual strengthening of citizens' awareness of rights in China, as well as the continuous improvement of the rights system and mechanisms for protecting rights in response, will be the most crucial factor in advancing the modernization process of Chinese law.
