Features: There was a Tibetan monk named Gendün Ch?phel who wrote a remarkable book in the winter of 1938, titled The Tibetan Book of Love and Chastity. This extraordinary work was composed from Indian classical texts, Tibetan classical texts, contributions from Indian scholars, and the author's personal experiences. Written in exceptionally vivid and fresh prose, the book meticulously describes sixty-four techniques of love, classifying men and women in imaginative ways. Because the author was a renowned wit and "madman" in Tibet at the time, the book could only circulate in Tibetan manuscript form for a long time. It was not until the 1960s that the English and Indian editions of the book were published and became a widely read work among scholars and the general public, even surpassing the famous Indian classical text Kama Sutra in popularity worldwide. As a humanist, Gendün Ch?phel reflects throughout the book a simple yet profound view of gender equality, emphasizing the ethical love that combines physical pleasure and spiritual introspection. He integrates the concept of "non-duality of bliss and emptiness" from Indian and Tibetan esoteric traditions into practice, intertwining the ecstasy of love with the spiritual path and offering readers boundless joy in reading and imaginative space for the Dharma of life. Gendün Ch?phel and his unconventional, rebellious, and independent spirit became a legendary figure in Tibetan history. This book is a color-illustrated edition based on the original work of Gendün Ch?phel, with numerous images that perfectly depict the classic Tibetan and Indian esoteric art of love.
