Features: The China Regional Innovation Capacity Report is a comprehensive and continuous annual research report themed on the construction of regional innovation systems in China. This report (2005~2006) is guided by the theory of regional innovation systems and, using the evaluation methods long established by the "China Technology Development Strategy Research Group," leverages a vast amount of scientific and technological statistical data to provide authoritative, comprehensive, and dynamic rankings and analyses of innovation capacity across provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions). It offers a valuable platform for local governments to understand the innovation capacity of their regions. Building on previous reports, this edition introduces a special report on the construction of the Yangtze River Delta regional innovation system, for the first time proposing the concept of cross-administrative regional innovation systems, which represents a deepening of research on regional and national innovation systems. It strengthens empirical research, enhancing the report's academic rigor. Additionally, it enriches the analysis of provincial (municipal, autonomous) innovation capacity by examining multiple perspectives, including regional economic characteristics, comparative advantages of leading industries, and the level of industry-academia-research collaboration for each region. This report serves as a reference for senior government officials, decision-making departments, researchers in research institutions, and faculty and students at universities and colleges.
