Publisher:
Publishing Date: Not available
Features: The manuscript "Yuguang Jianqi Ji" has long been a subject of academic interest, especially among scholars of Ming and Qing history, who have eagerly sought access to this book. The late renowned Ming and Qing history expert Xie Guozheng highly regarded this work and included it in his monumental work "Zengding Wanming Shiji Kao." During his time, the author visited Mr. Xie and proposed the idea of editing and publishing the book, which received enthusiastic encouragement from him. Mr. Xie passed away many years ago and was unable to see the book published in his lifetime, which remains a great regret. For this edition, the author undertook the following tasks: punctuating and segmenting the entire text, adjusting the volumes, and creating a new table of contents. The volume numbering in the manuscript had been altered multiple times by the author, but the numbering still remained disjointed. The original table of contents compiled by Wang Wentaoh in the preface was also disorganized, with some entries repeated or missing. To clarify the structure, a new table of contents was created based on the original manuscript's volumes, with one volume per category, totaling thirty-one volumes. The biographical materials on Zhang Yi compiled by Wang Wentaoh and the original table of contents from the manuscript were organized as "Preface" for reference. The most labor-intensive part of the editing was transcribing the original text and identifying the characters. Due to the manuscript's multiple alterations and extremely illegible handwriting, some characters were difficult to decipher and were marked with brackets [].
