Patient's question:
My relative's friend had a baby in the early days of 2017, but the baby was diagnosed with persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn at birth. It is said to be caused by venous malformation drainage. Is there any folk remedy for treatment?Doctor's answer:
There are no home remedies for now; it's still best to trust medicine. Pulmonary hypertension is usually caused by increased resistance within the lungs due to lung diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or bronchiectasis. These are incurable conditions. Therefore, the cause of pulmonary hypertension cannot be eradicated, making it impossible to cure. It can only be relieved with medication. The cause may be multifaceted, and congenital pulmonary arteriopathy is one of them. In this case, the intima of pulmonary muscular arteries becomes thickened, with some forming cushion-like or valve-like projections into the lumen, while others form spherical structures. Elastic arteries show intimal thickening, arteriosclerosis, and disruption of the internal elastic membrane. These changes lead to increased pulmonary artery pressure, right ventricular hemorrhage obstruction, elevated right ventricular pressure, and increased right ventricular pressure. Hypertrophy can be treated with unilateral or bilateral lung transplantation for primary pulmonary hypertension.
