Features: This book is a compilation of Zheng Bohong's Collected Works and Zheng Boqian's Treatise on Peaceful Governance of the State, hence the title The Collected Works of the Two Zhengs. Zheng Bohong's Collected Works were recorded in Volume 18 of The Straight Studio Catalogue of Books by Chen Zhensun of the Southern Song Dynasty as "Zheng Jingwang's Collected Works, 30 volumes, written by Zheng Jingwang, the Lesser Minister of the Imperial Clan Commission, of Yongjia, Zheng Bohong." According to the annotations in Volume 19 of The Catalogue of Classics in Wenzhou by Sun Yirang, "The Catalogue of the Wenyuan Pavilion Library" lists Zheng Jingwang's Collected Works as a single volume, with one copy missing. This book was still extant during the Ming Dynasty but is now lost. Therefore, this book is compiled from Zheng Fushu's Annotations on Documents, Zheng's Commentary on the Rites of Zhou copied from Wang Yu's Annotations on the Rites of Zhou, Commentaries on Classics copied from The Wenzhou Literary Collection, nine poems copied from The Complete Poems of the Song Dynasty compiled by the Institute of Ancient Documents of Peking University, and several lost writings copied from The Four Treasuries Collection. These are combined to form The Collected Works of Zheng Bohong. Zheng Boqian's Collected Works are included as Treatise on Peaceful Governance of the State.
For Zheng Bohong's Collected Works, the Annotations on Documents by Zheng Fushu from the Initial Compilation of the Series Collection published by the Zhonghua Book Company is used as the base text, as it follows the principle "the art sea edition comes first, hence it is printed accordingly." It is collated against the Four Treasuries Collection edition and the Hanhai Collection edition. For Zheng Boqian's Treatise on Peaceful Governance of the State, the Initial Compilation of the Series Collection published by the Commercial Press is used as the main text, collated against the Four Treasuries Collection edition.
