Features: One of the more meaningful articles in this issue of "Old Photos" is Chen Bida's, the grandson of Chen Bulei, recalling his family history. Starting from the rise and fall of the Yuan family through the paternal line, the marriage between Yuan Yongxi and Chen Lian, the grandfather's passing, the hardships and separations experienced by his parents after the liberation, and finally to the lives of the survivors after the turmoil—this lengthy piece weaves emotion into rational words, narrating the not-so-ordinary life of these individuals in a graceful manner. Additionally, several short essays recalling old friends and introducing old military uniforms are also worth reading.
