Newborn jaundice is high and doesn't want to move, what should I do?

Patient's question:

The baby was diagnosed with high jaundice shortly after birth and is currently undergoing treatment. I don't know if the child is uncomfortable, as they have been lying down and moving little. Now I don't know what to do, and seeing the child also makes me feel bad.

Doctor's answer:

Newborns with high jaundice index primarily receive treatment through blue light exposure combined with oral medication, or through the infusion of jaundice-fighting drugs. As long as the jaundice index can be reduced in a timely manner, it is unrelated to jaundice, and the main goal is to prevent serious complications such as bilirubin encephalopathy or kernicterus. In severe cases, blood transfusion treatment may be required. I don't know what the current jaundice index of your child is? What treatment suggestions does the doctor have at the moment? I also recommend that you give your child more water to help with urination and treatment.
