Features: The Tao Te Ching consists of 81 chapters, written in an extremely concise and highly abstract aphoristic style. It is a philosophical work that primarily addresses issues related to cosmology, philosophy of life, and epistemology. In summary, the Tao Te Ching mainly contains the following important contents:
1. A materialist philosophical system centered on the concept of "the Way";
2. Simple dialectical thought;
3. Epistemology with the basic content of "purifying the mystical mirror";
4. A political view of ruling through "non-action" and a social ideal of a small, sparsely populated state.
Regarding the Tao Te Ching, many predecessors have conducted in-depth studies, and numerous academic monographs have been published. However, their views are not entirely consistent. This book draws on some valuable intellectual achievements and strives to achieve two goals:
1. To uncover the precious value of the Tao Te Ching using dialectical materialist philosophy and relevant knowledge of natural sciences, emphasizing the positive aspects of its thought and making it a spiritual nourishment for us today.
2. To strive for simplicity, clarity, and accessibility, enabling a broad readership of young people to gain a comprehensive and clear understanding of the Tao Te Ching.
