This book is an introductory text that systematically introduces commonly used statistical analysis methods in foreign language teaching research. The book is divided into 10 chapters. The first 3 chapters briefly introduce what statistics is, the categories of statistics, and several commonly used descriptive statistical methods. Chapters 4 to 10 are the main content of the book, primarily introducing inferential statistical methods, including parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, regression analysis, non-parametric test methods, etc. The feature of this book is its step-by-step approach, with examples provided for each statistical method to help readers better understand and master the basic principles and computational steps of statistical methods. To avoid distracting the reader, this book does not introduce how to use statistical software for calculations. The target readers of this book are university foreign language teachers, postgraduate students in linguistics and applied linguistics, and it also has some reference value for teachers and postgraduate students in other disciplines.
