Features: On May 3, 1946, the Allied Powers who won the victory in the World War against Fascism opened the International Military Tribunal in Tokyo, Japan, to prosecute the Japanese militarist ruling group, one of the instigators of World War II. Before this, in Europe, the United States, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and France were conducting a military trial to hold German Nazis accountable in Nuremberg. The Tokyo Trial had the United States, China, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, and 10 other countries as plaintiffs, with 28 Class-A war criminals, including Hideki Tojo, as defendants. Based on the principles of justice and peace, as well as international law, treaties, and conventions, the trial was held publicly. From its preparation to its conclusion, the trial lasted over three years, full of twists and turns, with suspense at every turn. The Tokyo Trial was an unprecedentedly large-scale trial. According to Anglo-American legal customs, the defendants were granted ample defense rights, organizing a massive international defense team composed of renowned lawyers from Japan and the United States, which made the court's proceedings full of intense confrontation. This book describes the entire process of the trial from a Chinese perspective, interviewing those still alive who participated in the trial, and recording the little-known stories and details that occurred during this historically unprecedented trial. Today, re-examining the progress of this trial and the complex struggles within it still holds extremely strong practical significance. The longer the passage of time, the higher the transparency of history, and the deeper the lessons it imparts. This, in turn, heightens people's vigilance. History does not lose its truthful and rational hue with the passage of time. This book introduces the trial conducted by the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, proving through the trial records of Japanese war criminals that justice will ultimately prevail over evil.
