Features: The Practical Chinese Textbook, Volumes 3 and 4, are intermediate-level textbooks designed for foreign students learning modern Chinese. They consist of 30 lessons, with unit review materials provided after every five lessons. After completing these two volumes, readers can further deepen their understanding of Chinese and improve their ability to use Chinese for communication, laying a solid foundation for advanced-level study. Although the proportion of written language gradually increases in the lessons, continuing to consolidate and enhance oral proficiency remains one of the key tasks at the intermediate level. Each lesson includes a "Dialogue" that highlights specific functional points, designed to strengthen oral practice. The introduction of grammar and vocabulary knowledge is primarily presented in the "Word Explanations" section. We have selected some common words and structures, using example sentences and necessary explanations to help readers better grasp their usage and enrich their language expression skills. In Volume 4, the explanations in the "Word Explanations" section no longer include translations. The explanations are not exhaustive but aim to be concise and easy to understand. Some uncommon words and grammatical terms are listed separately in a glossary at the end of the book in the order they appear. The "Notes" section primarily addresses background-related questions. Each lesson provides a wealth of practice materials, with an emphasis on diversifying the forms of exercises. In addition to sentence-level drills, the focus is on improving the ability to express longer passages, especially the flexible use of Chinese in specific contexts.
