Features: This volume includes important works of Comrade Deng Xiaoping from September 1982 to February 1992, compiled as Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping, Volume 3. The two previously published selections will be renamed Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping, Volume 1 and Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping, Volume 2 when their second editions are released. The third volume contains 119 speeches, talks, and other writings, with a significant portion being publicly published for the first time. Works that were previously published in pamphlets such as Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (Revised Edition) and Important Talks by Comrade Deng Xiaoping (February–July 1987), as well as in newspapers, have been included in this selection with textual revisions. Many articles have been supplemented with additional content based on records.
This selection begins with the last piece from the previous volume (1975–1982), the Opening Address of the Twelfth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as the opening piece, and concludes with the Key Points of Talks in Wuhan, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shanghai, and Other Places (January 18–February 21, 1992).
