Features: From February 18 to 21, 2003, the Research Office of the Documentation Center of the CPC Central Committee and the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the CPC jointly held an academic symposium on Deng Xiaoping Studies in Chongqing. This conference was held in preparation for the national symposium on Deng Xiaoping's theory and life to commemorate the centenary of his birth in 2004. Guided by the spirit of the 16th National Congress of the Party, the conference conducted a relatively comprehensive review, analysis, and summary of the research status and achievements on Deng Xiaoping's theory and life over the past 20 years of reform and opening up. It also discussed the enrichment and development of Deng Xiaoping's theory by the third generation of the central leadership with Comrade Jiang Zemin at its core, and put forward suggestions and opinions on how to further promote the study and research of Deng Xiaoping's theory and the Important Thought of Three Represents. The papers from the conference have been compiled into this collection to enable theoretical workers to understand the results of this conference and grasp the dynamics of Deng Xiaoping studies. The collection includes 56 papers and 9 speeches, remarks, and statements by relevant leaders.
