Features: Traditional Chinese thought and culture is an extremely vast field. The ancient civilization it embodies and how it connects with modern natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities has garnered the attention and importance of scholars in China and the world. Since the reform and opening-up, many scholars have liberated their minds and taken the initiative, conducting truly scientific and independent research from the perspective of contemporary academic development, achieving fruitful results. The National Plan Group for the Collection, Arrangement, and Publication of Ancient Books has always attached great importance to the combination of the arrangement and publication of ancient books (including unearthed cultural relics) with systematic research on traditional culture. It advocates closely linking the precise results of arrangement and research with modernization efforts, ensuring that the inheritance and promotion of China's excellent traditional thought and culture are both scientifically grounded and clearly directed. For this very reason, the preface to the "Ten-Year Plan for the Collection, Arrangement, and Publication of Ancient Books and the 'Eighth Five-Year Plan'" formulated in 1992 emphasized: "In the next decade, attention should be given to the timely publication of academic monographs by modern scholars who have achieved significant results in researching ancient books. It is also proposed to encourage modern scholars to dedicate themselves to the study of ancient books with a modern scientific spirit, with the aim of applying ancient wisdom to the present." To facilitate the smooth publication of research monographs on traditional culture and to encourage the spirit of academic innovation, as well as to promote a rigorous and realistic academic style, the National Plan Group for the Collection, Arrangement, and Publication of Ancient Books specially commissioned its Academic Committee to organize the publication of the "Series of Studies on Traditional Chinese Culture." This series is published annually, with each volume containing ten titles, and a portion of the funds provided by the state is allocated as financial support for publication.
