Features: Information Technology Education and Disease Classification
Information technology education diseases are diverse in form, widespread in distribution, and vary in characteristics. Scientific classification helps in identifying causes, analyzing pathologies, and finding effective prevention and treatment strategies to restore the normal operation of the information technology education system. Referring to the classification methods of educational pathology, we can categorize information technology education diseases based on their nature, scope, subjects, causes, and severity into the following major types.
(1) Information Technology Education Diseases of Different Natures
Each disease has its own distinct nature compared to others. The nature of information technology education diseases is varied. From a motivational perspective, they can be divided into intentional and unintentional categories. Intentional information technology education diseases are maliciously caused by human actions that disrupt the information technology teaching system, such as intentionally creating and spreading computer viruses or conducting hacker attacks. Unintentional information technology education diseases result from a mismatch between subjective awareness and objective reality or from unconscious behavior, such as resource waste due to technological updates or excessive development caused by the "Schools Connected" project.
From a destructive nature perspective, information technology education diseases can be classified as principled and non-principled. Principled information technology education diseases arise from violations of the fundamental principles, laws, regulations, and ethical standards of information technology education. Non-principled information technology education diseases are often minor, non-foundational, and do not significantly impact the overall situation.
From an infectious nature perspective, information technology education diseases can be categorized as infectious and non-infectious. Infectious information technology education diseases can spread pathogens from one part to another, from one system to another, or across different times and spaces, leading to mutual infection, penetration, and the manifestation of symptoms. An example is the information technology teaching disease caused by the blind pursuit of trends and the phenomena of "conformity" and "following suit." Non-infectious information technology education diseases do not transmit pathogens to other parts, systems, or times. Even if they spread, they do not cause infection in those areas. Alternatively, even if pathogens are acquired, strong immune resistance may prevent the disease from developing. For instance, temporary difficulties in campus network management caused by changes in the school leadership.
From a content nature perspective, information technology education diseases can be classified as cognitive and practical. Cognitive information technology education diseases involve distorted reflections and one-sided understanding of the objective laws and realities of information technology education. For example, the proposal of the principle of visuality in information technology teaching, which overlooks the importance of cultivating students' abstract thinking abilities, may hinder intellectual development. Practical information technology education diseases are actions that violate the laws of information technology education. For instance, the massive waste of human, material, and financial resources caused by the practice of the "Schools Connected to Schools" project. Generally speaking
