Features: This book is divided into three parts. Part one includes newly written articles such as "Legal Application Revisited" by Mr. Zhang Jinfan and others. This is a response to the article "Falsified Materials and False Conclusions" in the book "Critique and Reconstruction: A Counterattack in the Study of Chinese Legal History" (published by the Law Press in 2002). To enable colleagues in the field of legal history and more readers to understand the facts and discern right from wrong, this part also includes several related research papers and original materials, including those by Japanese scholars. The second part includes two papers by Mr. Zhang Jinfan: "On the Ancient Chinese Craftsmanship Legal System and Codification Style" and "A Brief Discussion on 'Miao Examples'." These articles reflect Mr. Zhang's evolving understanding of these issues and help clarify any misinterpretations of his academic views by some scholars on related topics. The third part, in addition to "A Comprehensive Discussion on the Chinese Legal System," aims to illustrate Mr. Zhang Jinfan's long-term efforts and explorations in establishing legal history as a discipline, as well as some evaluations from the academic community.
