One of the important functions of political society is to try to resolve conflicts and disputes between individuals and groups, so that the strength formed through cooperation can address various common challenges and strive to achieve better ideals. Dr. Zhao Changfeng, the author of this book, attempts to use theories and methods from multiple disciplines, including international political economy, to combine normative and empirical research. Taking the historical trajectory of international financial cooperation (mainly after World War II) as a thread, power and interests and their manifestations in international financial cooperation as the main axis, and various issues in international financial cooperation as variables, he examines the complex relationship between power and interests in international financial cooperation; analyzes the pros and cons of international financial cooperation; and, from the perspective of safeguarding China's national interests and promoting international financial cooperation, proposes the claims of power and interests that China should hold in participating in international financial cooperation. He analyzes the factors influencing the realization of these claims, explores feasible pathways to achieve them.
