Features: Through millennia, society undergoes transformation. Today's Buddhism is the forward march after 2,500 years of (wind and rain trials), the blood connection after 2,500 years of peaceful propagation, the renewed brilliance after 2,500 years of splendor, and even the torch of cultural inheritance for 5,000 years of history. The past journey has proven that Buddhism is the religion of wisdom, the religion of compassion, the religion of peace, dedicated to purifying the human mind, elevating morality, and ensuring social stability. In the new millennium, the Buddhist community must uphold "loving the country and the faith, uniting and progressing," follow the teachings of the Buddha, adhere to the principles of "abstain from all evil, cultivate all good," and continue the direction of Humanistic Buddhism, achieving "the wheel of the Dharma always turning, the lamp of wisdom always shining." Today's Sangha will propagate the Dharma through culture, cultivate talent through education, repay society through compassion, and purify the mind through meditation, all for the purpose of "enriching the land and benefiting all living beings." The author is willing to make the greatest effort for this.
The author's goal is to promote the contemporary Buddhist culture of China, foster in-depth cooperation between the Buddhist community and academia, and strengthen mutual cohesion, with the expectation of opening up a new chapter in Buddhist cultural research to further flourish the contemporary Buddhist cause. The author hopes that Hualin (Bodhi Grove) can serve as a catalyst to advance and elevate the academic standards of Buddhist cultural research in China, showcasing the achievements of Buddhist scholarship in the Chinese-speaking world. It aims to become a window for religious and cultural exchange and dialogue, enhancing consensus and the spirit of peaceful coexistence among academia, religious communities, and particularly the Buddhist community. It seeks to provide opportunities for promising young scholars, vigorously promoting the depth and breadth of Buddhist research, and striving to establish academic norms for domestic Buddhist studies. It also aims to become a hub for academic exchange between China and the world, striving to integrate into the mainstream of international Buddhist academic research.
