Features: The story takes place in rural Northeast China during the Anti-Japanese War. Our little protagonist, surnamed Jiang, is the son of a hired laborer. His father was forcibly conscripted by the Japanese invaders, and his mother was kicked to death by the Japanese. To repay debts, he went to work for a landlord, becoming a young groom who tended horses. Later, due to the abuse of the landlord Chuanghuikan, he fled to the deep mountains. One day, a certain detachment of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Army fought the Japanese and entered the mountains. This mountain had seemed untouched since the snowfall, with wild animals, like embroidery, stitching various flowers onto the thick snow.
