Features: Chinese classic folk legends originate from the real lives of various ethnic groups and gradually take shape through thousands of years of oral tradition. These classic folk legends not only provide rich spiritual nourishment for generations of Chinese children but also play a significant role in fostering imagination and creativity in children. Many renowned writers, such as Li Bai and Du Fu, were exposed to these classic folk legends during their childhood. Under the starry summer nights or by the warm fireplace in winter, people would gather to tell folk legends, which was a shared childhood memory for the Chinese people. However, in today's increasingly globalized and modernized world, the influence of foreign cultures has expanded, with Snow White and Doraemon becoming the childhood memories of many. The "post-80s" generation, who have achieved great market success in fantasy writing, owe much to the magical elements from Western cultures and the influence of computer games. In 2006, relevant authorities in China designated the second Sunday of June as the country's "Cultural Heritage Day." The classic folk legends in this book, as an important part of "intangible cultural heritage," will play a crucial role in preserving the history of the Chinese nation and passing on its civilization. Many of these stories are ones that grandfathers and grandmothers heard as children, or that parents heard when they were young. Listening to these stories will help you understand the childhood of your grandparents and parents, and you will learn that the sea is not only home to "The Little Mermaid" but also to the singing "Third Princess of the Dragon King." You will also discover that although the humble sparrow is far less noble than the phoenix, all mothers share the same love for their children.
