Features: Introduction In the 21st century, you and I may worry about who will "take away our cheese," or fear falling behind the "tenfold pace," and even dread being left behind by the "knowledge economy." To avoid sinking, everyone keeps climbing upward. But ask yourself, can continuously climbing upward truly end our worries, fears, and anxieties? Why is the world the way it is today? For all souls who suffer in their pursuit of life's meaning, the author reflects on the historical development since the Renaissance, hoping to explore the ultimate meaning of civilization from it, and more importantly, to express deep concern for modern people. Looking back is not to escape, but to hope that history can nourish our helpless souls. Yes! History is indeed created by humans!
