The good creatures either submit to the oppressive rule and live in silence, or are turned to stone for daring to resist. Until Lucy brings human warmth to the faun Tumnus, until the Lion King Aslan rescues Edmund who has been bewitched and imprisoned by the Witch, until Peter draws the sword from its sheath for family and justice, the footsteps of spring draw ever closer.
