How is macrocephaly treated?

Patient's question:

Like knowing why the child's head is big, my child is almost three weeks old, and the head is much bigger than that of. The doctor said it's slightly big, but everything is normal, just like a five-year-old child's head size. What should we do?

Doctor's answer:

This may be related to intracranial hypertension syndrome, which is a common neurological syndrome that occurs when the total volume of intracranial contents increases due to various causes, or when congenital malformations cause a reduction in cranial cavity volume, leading to elevated intracranial pressure that exceeds its compensatory range. It is also known as intracranial hypertension. A head CT scan and lumbar puncture should be performed. There may be hearing and vision impairments, a large anterior fontanelle, delayed closure, but no signs of elevated intracranial pressure or hydrocephalus, indicating macrocephaly.
