Features: China has a vast territory with complex topography, climates ranging from subarctic to tropical, and significant differences in soil and vegetation. As a result, China's animal species are extremely diverse, with many endemic varieties. The country also preserves some relatively ancient or rare species, such as the giant panda, Chinese white dolphin, golden snub-nosed monkey, takin, brown-eared pheasant, red-crowned crane, Manipur hill mouze, Chinese alligator, and Chinese giant salamander. Xinjiang in China has discovered the only surviving wild horse in the world. China produces approximately 2,000 species of terrestrial vertebrates, accounting for about 10% of the global total, including over 1,160 bird species, over 410 mammal species, and about 500 amphibian and reptile species.
