Features: Typically, most amateur photographers begin their darkroom work in very casual situations. As a result, they often waste several years of trial and error and continue to print unsatisfactory results. This isn’t necessarily due to their equipment, materials, or even their skills; the same darkroom, the same photographic paper, the same chemicals, or even the same technique, when handled by another printer, might yield brilliant works, transforming mediocre results into something extraordinary. To overcome the bottleneck of printing techniques, the only method is to systematically learn and master printing skills. Even a slight improvement in your learning can make your printed works, so beautiful that you’ll barely recognize them. Although you may be eager to learn color printing immediately, starting with black-and-white printing will allow you to truly learn a great deal. When compiling this book, we assume you are starting from scratch and working in a borrowed or rented darkroom. We first teach you how to print your own black-and-white photos, then guide you through developing color negatives, followed by learning how to develop reversal film and how to print from reversal film.
