New Trends in the Study of Chinese Literature: Nature, Aesthetics, and Comparative Studies

Features: Introduction The eight articles collected in this book are the conference papers presented at the "New Perspectives in East Asian Literary Studies Academic Symposium" organized by the East Asian Civilization Research Center of National Taiwan University. Through these eight papers, it can be observed that East Asian literary studies have already achieved substantial achievements in textual research, while also actively engaging in cross-boundary exchanges and dialogues with regional studies across East Asia and Western perspectives. As part of the East Asian Civilization Center's series of programs, the first convening of this "Literature" symposium can be said to have provided a "starting point for understanding" in East Asian literary studies (or discussions centered around Chinese classics). Understanding, without a doubt, is the prerequisite for further integration and discovery. We hope this collection of essays will serve as a stepping stone to new horizons and invite more researchers to participate in future discoveries.
