The story of a chef has been written intermittently for a long time, taking me from my teenage years to my thirties. My hair has gone from long to short, then short to long, and finally short again. During this time, the people I liked have changed several times, and the idols I admire have come and gone endlessly—from the dancing movie star John Travolta to the French-speaking fencer Wang Haibin. Only the name Xiao Xie has never changed.
I've always loved telling stories to my sister since I was a child—ghost stories, martial arts tales, and even self-adapted historical legends. But if I could only write one, I would choose this one. What in this world is truly immortal? Only delicious food remains timeless, accompanying us through life. When I finished writing this book, autumn arrived in Beijing, perfect for listening to Xu Wei's "Autumn" and Ming Ge's "Rising Tides." In this deeply passionate music, I must clarify that the heroine in the book has nothing to do with me or anyone in real life, because I don't have a ponytail, and I don't really like sweet food either. Alright, let's cut to the chase and save time so you can start reading the story. I hope you enjoy your meal and live a wonderful life.
