Football can move the hearts of people from all ethnic groups around the globe. It is not just a sport but also carries a strong sense of national identity and cultural spirit. Young cartoonist Yao Guoxiang has devoted a significant amount of time and effort to creating and compiling football cartoons in recent years. Several years ago, he made a promise: to publish a large comic book titled "Humorous Football" before the 1998 FIFA World Cup, featuring 1998 football cartoons. The workload and the extensive selection process were immense, but as the saying goes, "where there's a will, there's a way," and he finally achieved his goal. The book explores various associations centered around football, reflecting the diverse and colorful nature of the "world sport." It takes readers on a stroll through the football world, showcasing moving scenes of athletes' hard training, their spirit of perseverance and teamwork, the friendly attitude of striving forward, and even the pessimistic moments of defeat. The passionate and frenzied behavior of football fans is also presented in a fun, humorous, and witty manner. The works in this book are characterized by innovative concepts, close-to-life themes, strong satirical humor, and concise artistic language.
