Features: In music conservatories, professional erhu lessons are conducted in a "one-on-one" teaching format, while collective erhu lessons have emerged alongside the development of amateur erhu exams. The teaching of collective lessons falls under a new topic in the field of erhu education, requiring "alternative" teaching languages, models, systems, and methods. How to grasp the teaching principles of children's collective erhu lessons and summarize their teaching characteristics while leveraging their advantages has been one of my research topics over the past few decades. In fact, shortly after entering university, I worked part-time as an erhu collective lesson teacher for several "kindergartens." The realities of the situation forced me to start thinking about the methods I should use to spark and maintain children's interest in learning the erhu. Since graduating in 1991 and teaching at the affiliated high school, I have also conducted collective lessons of various types and levels (1–10) at "Youth Palaces" in several districts or the "Shanghai Overseas Chinese Amateur Art Primary School." While researching professional teaching methods, I also began studying amateur collective lesson methods. This tutorial (including six volumes: beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels) is a summary of my teaching experiences over the past decade. It is certain that there are various shortcomings or imperfections in it. I present it here to seek advice from my predecessors and peers, aiming to achieve joint exploration and improvement. Each lesson in this book incorporates a teaching method, such as "demonstration playing," "practice methods," "review methods," "spot-checking," "commentary," "questioning," "score-reading," and "systematization." The creation, adaptation, and redesign of these teaching methods demonstrate Wang Lili's theoretical expertise and promising development prospects in research.
