Ancient Huizhou architecture embodies precision within simplicity and reveals serenity amidst density, captivating domestic and international tourists with its unique rhythm and charm. Since Mr. Liu Dunzhen, countless scholars and experts have explored ancient Huizhou architecture, publishing many insightful papers and monographs. To systematically excavate and study ancient Huizhou architecture and better serve modern construction, our department plans to publish a series of books on ancient Huizhou architecture. Leveraging the opportunity of open-style education, we organize senior students to conduct field surveys and measurements each year. These findings are then compiled and researched by relevant experts and teachers, resulting in theoretical elaborations. We aim to present the treasure trove of ancient Huizhou architecture to professionals and the general public by systematically consolidating scattered materials, with the village-township clusters as the main thread, from the perspective of developing valuable historical records.
