Features: In the year C.E. (Cosmic Era) 71, the war sparked by the "Blood" between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT forces has reached a stalemate. Both sides are locked in a deadlock, and just over eleven months have passed. In the neutral nation of Orb's space colony, Heliopolis, a young man named Kira Yamato and his friends are forcibly taken aboard the newly built Earth Alliance battleship, the Archangel. ZAFT seizes four new weapons and seize the opportunity to launch another attack on the Archangel. Kira doesn't want to fight, but he realizes that only as a Coordinator can he protect his friends, so he has no choice but to pilot the Gungnir once again. During the battle, Kira unexpectedly encounters his old friend Aslan Saar, who is piloting the X-303 "Aegis," in combat. Both are greatly surprised by each other's circumstances. Meanwhile, as the battle intensifies, Heliopolis finally collapses. The Archangel, en route to the moon, is relentlessly pursued by ZAFT's Kira Corps. To protect his friends, Kira fights desperately, ignoring Aslan's calls, who doesn't understand his true feelings. At this very moment, the Archangel suddenly suffers mechanical failure and is drawn by Earth's gravity, drifting toward the dangerous debris field of space.
