Features: The book "Experimental and Practical Work in Seed Plant Taxonomy" was compiled based on the requirements of the teaching syllabus, drawing upon the materials, experience, and lessons accumulated from years of teaching practice. To ensure better outcomes from experiments and fieldwork, we have included the fundamental theories and basic methods related to experiments and internships as Chapter 2. This arrangement greatly benefits both the conduct of experiments and fieldwork and the cultivation of students' independent work abilities and practical skills. When compiling the experimental and fieldwork content, we strive to prioritize guiding students' learning methods, thinking abilities, and practical operations, thereby providing instructional support. For example, during experiments, we generally pose thought-provoking questions rather than providing specific conclusions. Students are encouraged to draw their own conclusions through meticulous dissection and observation of materials, followed by independent analysis and judgment. Review and reflection questions are also provided after each experiment to facilitate post-class study and revision. Additionally, the book includes prominent features of common plant families in the Beijing region, as well as detailed information on experimental materials and specimen collection and preservation, to assist students in reference and consultation.
