Hu Feng Complete Works (1-10)

Author: Hu Feng
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 1999-01-01
Features: The Complete Works of Hu Feng is the first publication of its kind in China to date. It includes all of Professor Hu Feng's collected writings and translations, encompassing a 300,000-word manuscript, letters, and prison diaries, divided into 10 volumes. The arrangement of each volume follows the original format for works that Professor Hu Feng had previously compiled and published (Volumes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8), while works that had not been previously compiled are organized by genre, content, and chronology. Each volume begins with an introduction written by the compiler, providing a brief overview of its content and editorial process. The compiler has made necessary annotations to address variations in different versions of Hu Feng's works, corrected errors in the original layout, and generally avoided altering passages where doubts remain without sufficient evidence, leaving them for future revision. Some word choices and translations have been adjusted to modern Chinese conventions, such as replacing the possessive particle "" with "" in most cases. The annotations in this complete works generally do not explain the content of the original works but provide concise notes on the initial publication date, periodicals, characters, and events mentioned in the text. Some annotations are pending supplementation due to a lack of necessary materials. Annotations originally written by the author, translator, or compiler are retained. To distinguish them, notes labeled "Editor's Note" or "Author's Original Note" are added where applicable.
